Beyonce joins Nigerian Actor in LION KING remake
Beyoncé has joined Donald Glover and Chiwetel Ejiofor
in Disney's live-action "Lion King" remake.
The Award winning American singer shared the full cast list on her Facebook, confirming stories that she will star in the lead role of the film.
The news was also confirmed by Disney, who shared the full cast list on their official Twitter account.
The US singer will play the character of Nala, alongside the lead character Simba, played by Donald Glover.
The ensemble include: James Earl Jones, who is reprising his role from the 1994 film as Mufasa, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, John Oliver as Zazu and, Seth Rogan as Pumba the warthog.
The upcoming film is a CG-animated re-imagining of the 1994 Walt Disney classic "The Lion King."
The film keeps Jon Favreau as director after he led "The Jungle Book" remake.
The Lion King" live-action is scheduled for release on July 19, 2019.
