Beyonce Beats Taylor Swift for the Title of 2016's Most Charitable Celebrity

Beyonce Knowles is the most charitable celebrity of 2016, according to DoSomething.org

The organization has released their annual Celebs Gone Good list, which the singer tops thanks to her efforts to support various important causes in the past year. 

Other famous faces featured on DoSomething.org's list include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Demi Lovato, Shailene Woodley, Miley Cyrus and Lady GaGa.

Bey helped raise awareness to Black Lives Matter movement and anti-gun violence campaigns by bringing out the mothers of young men killed in high-profile shooting during her performance at the 2016 MTV VMAs. She also donated more than $82,000 for Flint and played a Tidal charity concert to support education.

Other charitable A-listers according to DoSomething.org include Lin-Manuel Miranda, Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato. The "Hamilton" creator/star, who comes at the list's No. 2, teamed up with Jennifer Lopez for a charity single called "Love Makes the World Go Round" after the massive shooting at a gay club in Orlando last summer. The proceeds of the song went toward Proyecto Somos Orlando which helped the victims and survivors in the tragic incident.

Swift, meanwhile, lands at No. 3 thanks in large part to her $1 million donation to help those impacted by the flood in Louisiana. As for Lovato, the former Disney darling sits at the list's No. 4 for speaking out about mental health issues.

All names featured on the list were chosen based on fan votes, expert opinion and IMDB StarMeter rankings. Joining the four aforementioned superstars were Shailene Woodley (No. 5), Miley Cyrus (No. 7), Lady GaGa (No. 8) and Zendaya Coleman (No. 9).
